Because I need some sunshine, because I need some rest, because I need warmth and beautiful scenery, because I want to do some more experiential studies. It seems that Thailand is offering all the above so I shall be there until the early spring. Do email me if you need to get in contact as I will be checking regularly.
I’ll miss you all and hope to see you when I get back.
“Everything in the universe has rhythm. Everything dances.” – Maya Angelou
One of the most wonderful gifts we can give ourselves this year is to choose to live a life of full expression, heart connection and truth. Opening ourselves up to rhythm, the rhythm that is always present in ourselves and all of life brings us into a deeper and more fulfilling relationship to ourselves and the world around us. ‘Opening into Rhythm in 2014’ is a Soul Movement Dance Class for everyone. Our dance space is a sacred place to discover your inner dancer if you’ve not yet met them, and a place to reignite and reconnect again and again to your power and strength.
Soul Movement classes are totally free-form movement /dance classes inspired by music and facilitation from the teacher, allowing our bodies to move freely without judgment or concern ‘for the “grace” or beauty of the dance. It’s an inner/outer journey of moving meditation, letting your body, heart and soul be your inner guide. There is much evidence to suggest that dance is an intrinsic part of a healthy community and has been practised since the beginning of time as a way to connect deeper into our potential and the fabric of the magical beings that we are. New dancers and seasoned dancers from everywhere are invited to join this community.
Maria started these classes after being greatly inspired by Movement Medicine, 5Rhythms and Soul Motion. Come and see what your inner dancer can offer you.

The third of a series of 3 special dances in honour of the goddess archetypes in all of us women. It doesn’t matter if you missed the first two, just don’t miss this last one ♥ With it being so close to the solstice, we will also honour this dark time of year too.
In ancient times, women were acknowledged to be earthly manifestations of the goddess, or the divine feminine. Women embraced their wild natures, their sensuality and their potential for all encompassing acceptance, and their culture supported …this in them. In recent ages, this honouring of the feminine has seemed to diminish completely, with a disregard for women and their power and an over emphasis and encouragement of the masculine energy; the goal fixated, doing, faster, faster, more more more, consuming, progressive, active energy. In these very recent years, we are finally beginning to see that a world without enough feminine: acceptance, being, feeling, creative expression is a world in turmoil and completely out of balance.
We will journey together through the sacred movement of dance to give space and intention to opening up our feminine natures and potential again!
No experience with this kind of dance is necessary. Come in whatever physical condition you are in. It is facilitated in a beautiful candlelit hall. Your body and soul will be inspired by music, suggestions, deep states of induced relaxation and a moving connection to your home, your centre.
• Bring your intentions/prayers/wishes for this full moon • Please bring a water bottle, blanket for times of lying stillness and relaxation. • Dress in easy to move in layers. • Please arrive through the top entrance in tower road where there is a carpark. • Cost £10 or £8 for concessions. • Doors open and music will begin playing at 6:15 for any early arrivals.
Everyone is invited to join us for our Winter Dream Dance, to dance deep into the recesses of our beings, acknowledge where we have come from this year, to honour our efforts and to call together our dreams at this dark time of the year, for the new year to come. Feels really good to honour this last helter skelter of a year together and give thanks for all that we received and all the blessings we were given. And … to look towards 2014 with the knowing and remembrance of who we are, beautiful co-creators and dreamers of our reality. Lets dance our new dreams together xxxx
After a very beautiful first women’s only full moon dance earlier this month, here is the second one in a series of three for 2013.

“It begins with a heartbeat, a breath, a quickening. Out of the still, silent waters of the mystic ocean of eternity, a tiny droplet of light slowly emerges, like the full moon reflected on the water. The doors of your perception swing open and your senses reach out like shining beams of moonlight to embrace the infinite rhythms and expressions of creation. As you relax into the expansive beauty of this universal dance, soothing waves of celestial grace surround and caress you in a never-ending stream of warmth and tenderness. Your heart opens as you feel the gentle touch of the Divine Mother, the supreme light and energy of Divinity, nurturing and enlivening the clear luminous flame of your own immortal spirit.” Sharron Rose, Awakening the Divine Feminine.
I am still very much in the warm afterglow of a gorgeous weekend of 5Rhythms here in Jersey.
We began on Friday, with around 30 of us. It was a strong and exciting start to the weekend which gave us a foundation in how to move to the 5Rhythms (Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness). Most of the dancers had never danced this practice before, created by Gabrielle Roth around 30 years ago. It was amazing how quickly we found these rhythms and over the weekend, dived deep into each one to experience the mystery that is at the core of each one. Together these rhythms make up life! Think of a storm, a lifetime, an eruption and you will find each of these rhythms inside these and countless other mysteries of nature. Gabrielle called the 5Rhythms, ‘The Wave’. When we become attuned to this Wave, we can begin to know ourselves on a very profound level. A level much deeper than the thinking mind can fathom.
Whilst discovering the Wave, we also experienced what it is to be out of our heads and grounded in our bodies. Each and every dancer was able to experience the peacefulness that comes through this practice of dance; this inner peace which many of us find so hard to feel in this day and age. Each dance journey is different, but there is something so special for me in dancing a deep journey with my fellow jersey dancing family on this lovely island we live on. I never fail to be blown away but how beautiful each person becomes when the have lost their heads and found their inner dancer. Also when we stir and shake the body, we really hear the wisdom, the communication that the body is telling us moment by moment. Sometimes this involves old unprocessed experiences which need to be felt fully to be healed. Feeling it and moving any old stuff through the dance really sets us free from the blocks we had perhaps been living with for years or a lifetime. By the end of the weekend a bunch of random strangers turned into a family of open hearts totally connected and supportive of each others own inner healing processes and journeys.
Are we humans or are we dancers? My wish is that everyone can experience the freedom and potential of fully connecting with their bodies and losing their heads for a while. I have not yet found a better way for doing this and for experiencing joy and inner truth than through the magic of dancing the body alongside a community of other amazing body’s on their quest to become more open and alive.
If you want to move your body and open more to life then come to a Soul Movement Dance Class in Jersey!

“Once upon a time, in the sacred societies and temples of the ancient world, women were respected and revered as the living embodiment of their divine role model, the Great Goddess. Their bodies were seen as sacred alchemical vessels of creation and transformation, as radiant temples of Divinity filled with the vital healing and transformative current of light and energy that ceaselessly pours outward from the Primordial Source of all life. Deeply in tune with the inner world of spirit and the outer forces of nature, women were known as the Keepers of the Sacred Mysteries.” Sharron Rose
At this magical time of the month, at the full moon, we will join together to dance our truth and dare to reconnect fully with our divine feminine which is so often squashed down in our modern times. This essence of us is when we are at our most intuitive, at our most creative, at our most loving, nurturing and accepting of all we are.
No experience with this kind of dance is necessary. Come in whatever physical condition you are in. It is facilitated in a beautiful candlelit hall. Your body and soul will be inspired by music, suggestions, deep states of induced relaxation and a moving connection to your home, your centre.
